SMM, January 6: Today, the overall prices in the rare earth market showed an upward trend. According to SMM data, the price of Pr-Nd oxide rose to 400,000-402,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium oxide increased to 1.63-1.64 million yuan/mt, while terbium oxide climbed to 5.75-5.8 million yuan/mt. The price of gadolinium oxide remained at 148,000-150,000 yuan/mt, and holmium oxide increased to 405,000-410,000 yuan/mt.

In the metal market, the price of Pr-Nd alloy rose to 489,000-493,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy increased to 1.57-1.58 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal reached 7.02-7.1 million yuan/mt. Gadolinium-iron remained stable at 146,000-149,000 yuan/mt, while lanthanum-cerium alloy prices stayed at 17,000-19,000 yuan/mt. Affected by the news of disrupted imports of Myanmar ore, medium-heavy rare earth prices continued to rise, driving up Pr-Nd products as well. Currently, separation plant quotes remain firm, metal plants have slightly increased their inquiries, and market trading activity has improved. Downstream magnetic material enterprises have started ramping up production to prepare for the Chinese New Year holiday, slightly boosting the overall market sentiment. SMM predicts that medium-heavy rare earth prices are likely to remain strong, and Pr-Nd product prices may also see steady increases.
